Plusnet Solutions

With summer already in full swing, Plusnet has wrapped up our latest solidarity initiative, held throughout the month of June. It has been another step in our journey towards making a positive impact, coinciding with World Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) Day, in the form of a solidarity challenge that has united our teams in a common cause: supporting ALS research.

What did the solidarity challenge involve?

June 21st marks World ALS Day, a neurodegenerative disease with no cure that affects three new people every day in Spain. Aware of the importance of promoting research, we designed this challenge to support FUNDELA, the Spanish foundation for the promotion of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis research.

This foundation is dedicated to funding research projects that seek treatments and a cure for ALS. Their work is crucial in advancing the understanding of this disease and offering hope to those who suffer from it.

As part of our commitment to corporate social responsibility (CSR) and the well-being of our staff, we set our teams the goal of surpassing 700,000 steps throughout the month of June. The motivation was not only the competition with other participating teams and being the first to reach this step count (and thus winning an extra prize), but also that for every team that completed it, Plusnet would make a donation to FUNDELA to support their research projects seeking treatments for ALS.

Happy with the results

As a result, not only did we have 7 teams participating in the challenge, but we also accumulated more than 5 million solidarity steps, which shows that in addition to our commitment to the cause, we have managed to promote well-being and physical exercise among our people during this month. And, of course, Plusnet has made a donation to FUNDELA on behalf of our teams, thus contributing to their essential work.

As a reward for the winning team, we also wanted to associate it with the cause of the challenge itself, so the members of this team will receive solidarity T-shirts from the Saca la Lengua a la ELA association, an organization that works to improve the quality of life of people affected by ALS and promote research through sports initiatives and solidarity projects, as well as raising awareness of the disease.

We chose this challenge not only because it coincided with World ALS Day but also due to the urgent need to support the research of this devastating disease. FUNDELA and Saca la Lengua a la ELA do incredible work not only in fundraising but also in raising awareness and supporting patients and their families.

This challenge is just one of the many initiatives that Plusnet organizes throughout the year to promote the health and well-being of our staff and support social causes. We remain committed to creating a healthy and supportive work environment where every team member can make a difference.

We keep adding steps for a better future!
